I'd pop for the Technics at the under $400 for a list $1200 player that is rated better than the Sony by the Stereophile Guide to Home Th. current issue. I pad $800 for the Technics and find it worth every penny.

Can you tell me if the technics unit passes a 24/96 signal throgh
the coaxial output or if it down converts it to 16/48?
