I have been going back and forth on this topic. What is the best setting for my front speakers, small or large?
Here's what I got:
Receiver: Denon 4800
Fronts: Boston Acoustics VR 950's
Center: Boston Acoustics VR 10
Rears: Boston Acoustics VR Pro Surrounds
Sub: Boston Acoustics PV 800
Any input would be appreciated.

-What's the crossover point on your AV receiver (or, if selectable, which have you experimented with or use)?
-What's the low-bass extension on your mains?
-How well do the mains integrate with the sub running full versus crossed-over?
