  the ati radeon with the ati software is
  better than a stand alone dvd player
  i have a/b many players and the htpc blows them away
  it is not even close!
  keep in mind that this only is true for the ati video card
  and player (which was not in the dvd shootout)
  (of course if you dont have a 480p display and
  a vga 15 pin input the standalone is the way to go)

    We tested it at our latest benchmark that hasn't been published yet. We hope to have the writeups beginning sometime in July.

      please tell me i can get better dvd playback than htpc
      on a dvd player thats under a grand! (ati card $75 - $200)
