Picture, picture, picture. The 450 by a mile. Artifacts are much better controlled. I have the 450 for about a month. No problems. Did the Video essentials thing, learned a few tricks. Believe me, when you get the 450, you will become a critic of everything else you see. For a VERY EXPENSIVE tv, the speaker system is average at best. Expect to pay another $1000 for a small receiver and surround system. I am in the process of either building speakers or buying a surround sound system. I will probably enlist the help of this forum for a surround sound system recommendation.
I am a nasty critic of very expensive bull***t products that are sold as the best. If you pay this kind of hard earned money, expect the best. Beyond this, you are paying huge dollars for "lifestyle" products. Including plasma, projection, etc. Do not buy any leftover 400's. Buy the extended warrenty. These can be expensive to service.(This is a paid announcement by Son......)
Just kidding.

Thanks for the tip. Sony/GE has a very attractive financing offer now - 15 months same-as-cash.RE surround sound, I'm in good shape there with a Pioneer Elite VSX36THX receiver, Dynaudio Audience 62 L/R, 122C center, and 42 rears, and a REL Strata 3 sub. You can spend more, you can spend less, but this system gives great preformance for movies and for music. Highly recommended! See www.dynaudiona.com.
Gotta go now and buy a TV.
As soon as I get my royalties from Sony, I will be able to answer the young lady's question, "Will that be small fries with your water, sir". Watch for color purity on the video essentials. I need to adjust screen 1/8" to the right, but not imoprtant enough to fool around with the service settings. One sneeze and the Shopping Channel is in black and white (hey, wait a minute, that is a good thing). Adjust all the terrible pre-sets. Way to radical. Should run $2000. Enjoy.
