Last week I purchased a sony kv35s42 television.
I,ve noticed a circle, the outer rim is about 3 inches thick and nearly touching the top to bottom of the screen. It is most visible during bright scenes with a solid color, like a scene of the sky. I cannot detect it in darker scenes or with motion and many variations.
Could this be a distortion caused by a reflection off the tube neck of the difflection beam? Is this abberation common to this set? Can it be adjusted out?

Thanks for the response. The dealer sent a tech to check it out.
Turns out to be a shadow mask problem. They are replacing the set.
I'd be getting the dealer down there ASAP, bringing a NEW set with him!! My father had the same problem with his 27", and it completely died after a less than a month of use!!!
Just a word of warning!!!
Great picture, questionable build quality lately...and not just Sony, I'm afraid.
