JVC DVD Player XV-523gd audio drop out

After we view a DVD and then begin to play the special/bonus features, the audio will drop out. To regain audio we have to cycle the power on the DVD Player. This happens with at least half the titles we play. We go back to where the audio dropped out and can continue playing the various bonus materials. If there are a lot of materials, the audio can fail repeatedly between each section.

I have sent this in to JVC 3 times along with DVDs that exhibit the symptom and they can’t fix it. I have also sent them my receiver which is also made by JCV, model RX-884vbk. The last time the blamed the received and replaced the Dolby digital sound chip. That did not help.

Any ideas?
