SCART is just a physical connector standard.
It may include RGB or S-Video. It's up to the manufacturer.
It will include audio too.
It's more convenient to use compared to phonos as it has a trigger signal to switch the TV to the AV channel when play is pressed on the DVD player. Also, it's just one cable, of course.
