Do you know anything about the 9000ES CD play back? I read here that Stereophile reviewed it as good as a $1,000 CD system!
Follow Ups:
I have had both the DVP-S7700 and now the DVP-9000ES and the SCD333ES.... As far as DVD players... no comparison, the 9000 is superior to the 7700 on CD and DVD. The CD playback is still a bit bright (So is SONY in general), but far smoother and better attenuated
than the 7700As far as 9000 vs 333, not convinced either way yet which one i like best... i am using different cables for each and have not done objective comparisons for either CD (what's a CD?) and SACD (yeah baby!)

The 9000 as a CD player: is it as good as a $1,000 Arcam or Rotel CD player ? I believe that is what a reviwer in Stereophile said. The 9000 as a SACD player: is it very bright still? or more natural sounding?
The 9000 as a DVD player: do you have to use Progressive Scan to get the much better picture with a HDTV? Deoes component video connecttion produce better picture than 7700? (I do not have a HDTV, it is still too expensive for my budget at current price).
Thanks
