Thanks, Sam. I'm interested solely in the progressive (video) output. I already have a SACD player (SCD-XA777ES) and so the extra analog outputs are redundant.
I've heard varying results from DVP-9000ES DVD player and wondered if the same problematic Genesis chipset was used.

Sony is using a new de-interlacing engine of their own design on the DVP-S900V. The same engine is in use in the 700p. You can see how the 700p compares for progressive capability in our shootout results.
