Well, thanks to Dman, I got my DVD player working--you were right, Dman, just needed to find the right input channel--who'da guessed it to be channel 00? Oh well! Getting great DVD sights and sounds now.Unfortunately, while moving my system around I set my TV down between my klipsh heresy's. Can you say BONEHEAD???? It was no sooner I had done that that I went Oh Sh*t! and moved the TV away, but it was too late. Now I have a purple spot in the upper right corner and a green spot in the lower middle.
It's been about 1 week since I did that, and I figured maybe the TV would de-mag itself by turning on cold each night. Nope.
Is there an easy way to get rid of these unsightly spots? (Madge, I'm soaking in it!) Thank to the Asylum dwellers for any hints!

Hi, there is a very simple way to degauess the picture tube....all you need is a electronic tape eraser. you turn on the earser and move it around the front of the tube and then with the eraser still on your move it away from the tube slowly...this will correct the problem....good luck....
I have this problem on my RCA ColorTrak TV.
But it only changes to funky colors if there is something red or orange colored "paused" on the screen for a few minutes.
example would be...on a Playstation 2;if you paused a game for a few minutes, come back and a small spot on the screen is purple/pinkanyway, maybe im just not thinking clearly, but what is an electronic tape eraser ?
