In Reply to: Re: anyone know if a 18' long room with 8' ceilings is too small for a projector? posted by ed rex on November 09, 2001 at 10:42:53:
G'day,The room seems small but I have the projector installed on the back wall projecting on a 100" screen. It may not be ideal and up to specifications to THX yadda yadda, but it looks great and beats the shit out of RPTV or any tv for that matter. I can only comment on single lens projector but 18' is OK.
Good luck, regards Robert.

Robert,How high is your ceiling?

G'day JVH,I have an Infocus LP350 which, when mounted upside down, and horizontally 0 degrees, the screen is on the opposite wall mounted, 12" down. I set up the projector for 'enhanced widescreen', the DVD for 16:9 output, and with most DVD's, I get the best performance out of it. Although the projector is not 16:9 but 4:3, and I have the old black bars top and bottom, the picture is still excellent. The projector can still be zoomed in or out abit with my small room, if it wasn't for my 100" Da-Lite pull down screen, I would make the picture bigger.
Regards Robert.
