Just got a Mitsubishi high-def VCR HS-HD2000U. According to some
salespeople this vcr's 2 firewire ports will only work when hooked to a firewire-equipped high-def Mitsubishi HDTV.
Others claim that it will also work with SONY KD34XBR2 which too sports a pair of rear wideband firewire ports. Reportedly Universal, Fox, Dreamworks and New Line Cinema plan to offer high-def movies in
D-VHS format begining early next year.

The Mits HS-HD2000U sounds great but how many $$$$$? Dual firewire? what's this? I have a Sony SAT-HD100 tuner and a Sony PFM-500 plasma. How will this item interconnect?? What about a Sony HDW-500 HD console VTR? Shure there expensive but it will work (via SDI, not firewire). Isn't yhe Mits discontinued?? Please advise...
