Dear fellow videophile,My Faroudja DV-1000 stopped responding to it's remote. (Or should I say the remote stopped working?)
As far as I know this is a Toshiba remote, and it is batteryless.
Is there perhaps batteries in the unit itself? How can I get the remote going again?
Thanks for your help.
Follow Ups:
It seems to be regular IR remote, which must have batteries. To check if remote works, turn ON some AM radio and then with any button on remote pressed, go around that AM radio and listen for "machine-gun" noise. Radio must not be tuned to any station. If you do not hear this sound, remote is not working.
I don't believe the remote can work without batteries. Either look for a hidden or sliding door or take the screws out, if it has any.Todd
