I'm trying to find a S-VHS VCR with flying erase head and two S-VHS
ports in the rear for under $ 1000. Did try SONY SLV-R1000, but it
couldn't handle "noisy" video tapes. Suggestions would be appreciated.

You can try this JVC model. It has 2 S-VHS ports, but one in the front and another in the rear. http://aoknetinc.com/jvc-hr-s9800u.html
