Sony Wega TVs look quite nice. I love my Toshiba Cinema Series. If I were you I'd stay away from LCD or plasma--the quality of these technologies simply can't compete with a tube.You may want to look into RPTVs again. I have seen several that rival the quality of their smaller direct-view bretheren.

I really beg to differ with you regarding the plasma's. true some of the 42 inch versions are not that good (since it is physcially impossible to put 1920 pixels horz. on a 42 inch). the 50 inch versions are far superior to a picture tube. to name two units panasonic and elite by pioneer
