Can anyone give me a hint what is good for?

A quad is used with a projector that has a horizunta scanning frequency of at least 64khz which essentially limits its use to expensive front CRT projectors.The quad first converts the interlaced video to progressive["doubling"],then interpolates another scan line between each that is allready there[quadpuppling].

the Faroudja Quadrupler is, I believe, for projection systems. He makes a different box for plasma tvs, and he makes his own RPTV. Wonderful gear, if you can afford it.
