I'm not sure of the exact ratios, but my Toshiba (SD-2200) steps through three levels of zoom. The top one seems to be around 3-4x, so there's something in that ballpark...
Follow Ups:
At the lowest setting, can a widescreen picture be made to fill the screen of a 4:3 std TV without loosing too much of the picture?
