I read the following quote in the archives:"In my experience, none of the HT preamps/recievers can do justice to music the way a dedicated 2 channel preamp/integrated can."
OK. I've got the "opposite" problem...
Is there an integrated tube based amp, needed for great music, that will work well in a two-channel HT set-up? Here's the criteria:
(1) Under $3K new.
(2) "Enclosed" style...no visible tubes (I'm trying to slip this by my wife).
(3) Remote for volume control needed, or would that be handled by the DVD/CD player itself?
Follow Ups:
The only thing that comes to mind is the VTL integrated for under $3000. If you don't mind buying a Dealer Demo I would take a serious look at the VAC Avatar integrated on audiogon.com it's supposed to be one of the best tube integrated amps you can buy....
