Would $1200 ~ $1500 be enough to buy "good" amp/pre/pro/interconnect for both music and HT use. Would I be better off with reciever than amp/pre/pro/interconnect options. If not, how would spend it ? BTW, my speaker is Infinity Kappa 6 (kind of inefficient I think)I dont mind buying used gears as long as I buy them from a honest local dealer. I do not want to buy the products over internet, however. Thanks.

At that price point, I believe you would be better served with a reciever. I don't think you can do as good with seperates under about $2.5K for both. You are talking $1-1.5K for both units correct? If for each, I've seen a ad on Audiogon, I believe, for an Anthem AVM-2 and the companion Anthem MCA-5 mk II, new (closeouts) for about$2600 total. the MSRP on both pieces is about $4300. Below this price ($2500), IMHO you're better off with a reciever.
