The DVD-RP56 doesn't use the DVDO or Genesis de-interlacer chip; it uses the Faroudja DCDi chip.The DVD-RA60 is not a progressive-scan player, but it does play DVD-Audio discs. It also has built-in Dolby Digital/DTS decoding.
The 'RP56 is potentially the better video performer, but only if you connect it to a progressive-compatible digital TV. Conventional TVs can't display progressive-scan signals. Hope this helps.

Sorry had mixed up the chip, I knew it had one of the either the Sage or the DVDO as opposed to the older genesis. I didn't know the RP-60 wasn't progressive.Thanks,
