Anyone thought about an LED video projector?Simplisticly, using a line of RGB LEDs and a rotating mirror at the frame scan rate could generate an image.
Assuming each RGB LED is 1/4 inch and, say, 800 are required for a video scan line, then the width of the image would be a minimum of 200 inches or 5 metres.
I am not sure how to focus each LED output though.
Follow Ups:
LED projectors are already on the market, sold by companies like Sony, NEC, Mitsubishi and a number of others. They used fixed panels.
The panels are somewhere between .5 and .9 inches.Screen size is variable, based on a function of throw distance and lens optics.
Your technique is much closer to TIs 3-chip DLP implementation, which is prohibitively expensive at this time.
