Video Asylum

It seems my Cannon Optura Pi won't stop recording. It seems that when you power it off (or is it on), even though it isn't in active record mode - you get a second or two of (usually shoes or sky) non-intended video recorded. This is really annoying as I tend to do in camera edits on a trip and now I must review each turn on/off and clip a bit of the last scene to get rid of the shoes/sky.

Does anyone else know of this or how to fix it?
