Hi,I purchased the Back to the Future set of I,II,III on DVD. It is not available in the US except on VHS so I bought a set that sells overseas that is still in NTSC so it plays fine in my DVD.
My question is that I see both the DOLBY DIGITAL and dtsES logos on the disk printing and box packaging, but in the setup I am only presented with a choice of DOLBY 2.0 and DOLBY 5.1. I have a Marantz SR19EX compatible with dtsEX and it cannot find the audio stream either. Where the dts? Am I missing something here?
Also, I am very happy with the product since I prefer DVD over VHS, (no surprise), but it really looks no better than VHS, and even the DOLBY 5.1 seems to be all crunched into the center channel with barely enough swoosh of sound to the sides and rear to keep me happy.
This is not a hacked copy. It is a Universal Studio release with the ISBN numbers a full printing/packaging.
Anyone elese experience product such as this? Any comments?
Thanks,
Jim

Hi JimThe labelling on some DVDs can be quite misleading as DD does not imply 5.1 as some think. Also, you may need to reset your player. Study the instruction book to see.
I have some DVDs which claim 5.1 and have the player set up correctly but they do not play as 5.1 surround. I might get pro logic if lucky. Not sure what is going on here. Maybe there is a trigger for 5.1 that our players do not recognise. Our Toshiba is 3 years old so that is probably the reason.
