I have an old Yamaha RX-870 receiver in excellent condition that is now serving as the amp for my computer set up. I have a soundblaster live 5.1 card and we just got a PS/2 for christmas. I am going to add the additional speakers to utilize the surround sound, and I would like to be able to play DD.Is there a DD processor I can buy that would be cheaper than replacing the receiver? Or am I stuck with this old technology?
Thanks, Gary

Been there, tried that but it did not work in our system. I tried to splice in a Technics(?) 500D but the sound was dreadful. When I did my research on this 2 years ago there were no more add ons being made -> only used units = old technology. However there was a recent thread here on the 500D and praised it so maybe I struck a lemon.
