The Denon 9000 lists for US$3500, unlikely you will see if for anywhere near US$1500 this year ;-)Perhaps you are confusing the 9000 and the 3800?
Both have superiour (and identical) deinterlacing solutions to the Sony's Genesis, although Sony did a very nice job implementing this chipset. If you use this player in progressive scan, you see the results of the deinterlacer on every frame you watch.
The same is true of the MPEG decoder you see its work on every frame you watch, and as we've said many times, some are more sensitive than others to the flaw -- but it's definitely there on the 9000.

Thanks for your response. Apparently you have some experience with the 9000ES. I will look for the Denon unit and am also considering the Arcam DV27.
Ron,There are some really good solutions -- look at as many as you can and pick the one that pleases your eyes the most.
