I have noticed when at my fathers house, his Pioneer Elite laserdisc/dvd player playing widescreen movies, seems to make everyone/everything seem 'thinner', or squeezed.I actually get headaches from trying to watch this disproportion for the length of a movie.
I have a Toshiba 2108 (early model) that doesn't do this.
My sister has the 2109 and it does the same thing my father's machine does.
Does anyone have a clue as to what is going on here?
TIA
:)
Brad

Check your aspect ratio in the menu of the Player in question- I bet its set to 16:9 or "widescreen tv" or something similar. Set it to 4:3 or something like that (different players call it different things!)

I'm guessing the DVD players are set for 16:9 TV sets, and are playing back on a display that can't do the anamorphic unsqueeze.Regards,
