I need some advice on the following:
(1) can anyone comment your opinion on this?
(2) when you were down to two choices, what were your RPTV brand name and model number?
(3) why you choose the final one?I notice the Pioneer has better quality and just like you all said, they are almost double the price.
Does the country of where the RPTV made from bothers you? I had negative experience myself and I am very cautious about that. I notice Sony RPTV does not make in Japan anymore and so does other brand, I found out the following:
Sony - made in US
Panasonic - made in China
Mitsubishi - made in Mexico
Sharp - made in ?
Pioneer - made in ?
Toshiba - made in USYour comments is most welcome and appreciated! Thanks in advance! This forum is great and team work is what I learned as the key to get the best deal.

I suggest you check out the available online info/trouble reports re the Sony KP-57HW40. Just about everything I read, and the dealers who sold both, recommended the 51HW40 instead (it's what I ended up with), even thought the 57 cost only ~$100 more. There's a reason for that I guess. So if you want the larger size, go for the Toshiba, but the 57HW40 is probably best avoided for now. I'm guessing somebody tried to "extend" the 51 to 57 cheaply, and it didn't happen too well, but most problems happen well within the waranty period, though ongoing adjustments seem necessary.
