I disagree about 2001. For me, one of the most important indicators of greatness is memorability, and wanting to re-view. 2001 fits big time. There are memorable scenes in The Shining, still, it's not one I want to see again. Still, maybe the director's cut would make a difference, not sure.

I've always liked Barry Lyndon. Even purchased the Handel Suites for Harpsichord to get that theme. Oh yes, the Schubert Trio as well.

Lolita is terra incog. What is so bad about it?
I agree with you about Spartacus, not one of the greatest, although good. I guess there were a few scenes cut though, right?

There is one though, that you've not mentioned: The Killing. I think that's the title starring Sterling Hayden. Pretty good in my book, perhaps not great.
