So I just ordered " Dinner rush " through Amazon UK and " What happened was.." with Amazon US....two weeks and they will be mine.
Russian Ark..still have to see it, it is taped and ready to look at...Tonight it will be Fellini´s Nights of Calabria....
Hitch´s " The Rope " fall in this category too...it may be a " a tour de force " and may flattering the ego of the director but I do not see the more quality for me as a viewer, maybe quite the contrary...What do you think?
Rome, ville ouverte, is a terrible film for every conscience, one who because of my background ( father at war ) is very hard to see, beside it´s obvious pure genius..and " La Magnani " pared with a touch of existentialism a la Sartre.
Roma I must have seen it in the late 50´or early 60´s, at the French communist party in Nice where I received every years toys and had a film or two to enjoy.. At their theater, that is where I first saw " Nuit et Brouillard " ...But that is another story...
