Perfect casting and acting.
As is the case with all Shakespearean tragedy, the effort rises or falls on the skill of the central role. The actor who plays the cursed King looks the part, acts it, but never falls into the chest-beating, hair-pulling, screaming excesses seen all too often on our stages.
All three daughters also are wonderfully cast, as are the brothers.
Not filmed theater but, like the Russian "Hamlet," a skillful adaptation to the screen.
