Although the guard rail didn't do the car or my neck/head any good, it DID prevent me from being propelled across the median into oncoming traffic - which might have killed or maimed me and several other people besides.
Glad to hear you finally recovered, back injuries can be a real bear, and so slow to heal. The trucker who hit me tried to claim he hadn't hit anything, although he allowed that he might have crowded me and I "panicked and lost control". HAH! Bastard never looked or signalled, I was almost up to the cab passing him. Luckily, I have a witness who also gave a report to the sheriff's deputies.
Thankfully, my back is OK, just bruised disc in my neck and wrenched muscles. I am very wary of any sort of back surgery, thanks for the warning. You are right about the exercises, they're a good idea anyway.
The main issues are the, bleeding, floaters and flashes in my eyes, as apparently the retina, which looks OK now, can tear some time after the initial accident. :-( At the very least, it looks like I will be looking at floaters...forever. I go back to eye specialist in a month for re-check, unless something bad happens in between.
At least I am alive to see spots and complain.
