I would not worry much about the Renaissance or ancient Greek - they are too distant to be relevant. I am talking about today.
I suspect if the film had something like "For the Grace of Virgin Mary" (sorry, I made it up, I am not sure what the proper language would be, don't mean to offend anyone) at the opening, it would have created a curious reaction in you... no?
