you know more corvette jockeys than I probably ever will.

I don't know a lot of corvette owners, myself and a buddy who has a 64 who doesn't drive it much. He got it years ago when they were cheap, and his example was cheaper still, because someone added some real ungainly fender flares.

The guy enjoys being cheap, a weird combo for a guy with a small car collection. He has a couple of good ones, bought back in the sixties when they were cheap, but the rest, forget it, most sit outside in his renters back yard.

his latest buy is a ford galaxy 500 from the sixties, a true yank tank , with bad paint and interior, but with an interesting to him ,option package.

THis is a guy who complains about buying a windshield wiper. His wife did a little complaining also, when she saw he had bought another car that he plans to fix up, one of these days.

As one who, I assume, doesn't go read corvette forums, it might be you with the small sample size, or I also could just have fallen into unique site. But I don't think I am far off , since I have frequented that site, and other corvette sites, off and on, for years.

I think every adult on this forum already knows one can't accurately paint people with a broad brush, but entertainment will often cast, understandably, a broader net.

I hope I have answered you objection. My writing style might not be prize winning, but I am honest, and try to contribute in a positive manner.

I agree the flag on the moon is symbolic and historic, who wouldn't, but it is not important to this movie.

As I mentioned in my review, it was not a space epic. Flying around with gritted teeth and planting flags as the music swells , is not what this movie is about. It is a story of a personal journey, of both the man and his wife, set against the death and dangers of space exploration.

Watch the film, you will see what I mean, try for the best presentation available, if you are a real fan of flying machines.

I am, you didn't have to explain to me the opening shot was the interior cockpit of an X15, I was thrilled at the opening, from pictures I knew instantly. I even built a plastic X!5 model as a child. I think I saw one hanging in the national museum, but that was it. Wait, I just remembered I had X15 shoes as a kid, a sears exclusive, with a space age bonded sole.

One of the guys who posted that he saw the film in Imax, made me a touch jealous, for a moment, you only have one first time, and I really dig that flight exploration kind of stuff and a story well told.

I once drove from the east coast of Florida to the other side of the state to see a space shuttle blast off. It took an early start, which was a shock, I was a sailor off the ships and used to sleeping late , I almost cancelled my plans, a couple of times as i was trying to rip myself out of a comfortable bed to go drive across state for about a minute of a rocket launch. I need a lot of sleep.

It was very worth it, and Florida is so flat that once you hit the bee line highway, it is just that, a bee line highway. Easy fast driving.

I did see an old lady in a beige K car, get startled by a car that merged in next to her, jerk the wheel, and put her k car sideways up on two wheels, balanced , like a stunt driver, and went down the road like that for good couple of moments, than it returned to normal, rubber side down, shiny side up. Just a highlight, I digress.

If people want a film about planting the flag on the moon, they are certainly free to make one.

It might take some doing to beat this one as a film. Good luck. it is tough not to fail at movie making, think of all the dreck released . You get a good one about the first man on the moon, and some complain.

Complaining is easy, and in this case, I am sure a lot of people who never saw the film were glad to get all butt hurt over it, and probably stay that way until they die, or see the film.

Takes all kinds to make a world , I am grateful about a lot of things in it. As the man said, if you can control a situation, no reason to waste time worrying about it. If you can't control the situation, the same is true.

I buys me ticket and takes me chances, just like popeye, without fear.
