Yes, this is correct. The quality of the signal will be dependent on the quality of the original source. Also, while S-Video offers a performance advantage over composite as far as VHS goes (if you get the S-Video signal right out of the VCR), you basically still have a low quality signal compared to DVD. I am skeptical as to how good this low resolution signal will look on any kind of big screen high performance TV.Todd
