Re: How clean is your power?

Yup, I thought about going for the heat gun, but I think I've got it working. On the main processor board there mus be some kind of fault. If I remove one of the four mounting screws, it seems to work fine, cover on or off.

A close inspection of both sides of the board hasn't revealed anything, even under magnification. As you can imagine, it is a densely packed board with surface mount devices on both sides.

Anyway, the board is supported well---even at the corner with the screw removed. And, since I don't have the proper equipment to work on this type of PCB (I prefer pin-point super-heated air), I believe that I will just leave the screw out for the time being.

I'll tell you, though, it must be a hair-line fault, because the board looks perfect. At least I can play with my new DIO now!
