History:I've always loved movies. Kubrick, Hitchcock, Kurasawa, Scorcese, Reed, Laughton, etc. To me, movies are the visual equivalent of music.
I started with a 12" Sony Trinitron but when I got my first Laserdisc player, the dissonance between hearing the sound on the big audio system and seeing the shark in "Jaws" looking more like a sardine in the letterboxed picture led me to a 32" Trinitron.
Now:With the recent introduction of Sony's VPL-HS10 front projector, a really big screen is now an economic feasability for me. I'm about to place my order.
My questions are these:
For those who have this unit, what kind of screen are you using? What size are you projecting? What material, manufacturer and color (white or grey) are you using?I plan to start with projection on a wall until I decide what the ultimate size will be (I'm shooting for ~7 feet wide, ~100" diagonal) and until I have some answers to the other questions I've posed.
My current source is a Sony DVD player. Viewing distance is ~14'.
Feedback is appreciated.
Happy Listening (and viewing)!
Barry
