As a new owner of one of these gems, I'll tell my initial impression- WOW!!!! I can't believe you can get performance this good for so little money. It's the most exciting A/V gear I've ever bought!I'm also just shooting against a piece of drywall right now, determining seating distances & the like, while I finish my dedicated theater room. While the picture looks great on the wall, I'm most likely going to go with a Da-Lite HCCV screen in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio. The zoom works so well, and the picture looks so good, I can go with a fixed-height screen, as I hoped.
As for the 7' wide, once you spend some time with it you'll decide to go bigger:-) I'm going to go 10' wide, and have seating at about 12', and 16-18' behind that.
If you want more info than you can read in a weekend, try AVS forums, under$5K digital projectors. The unit's the star over there!
Regards,
Kevin
