Projecting on to a white gyp-board wall works surprisingly well! I've had a projector for two years now, but still haven't purchased a screen... all I have is a border of black felt, pinned to the wall.The screen that seems to make the most sense for bright LCD projectors is the Stewart Greyhawk which is expensive material. It would make black appear darker, but the 700:1 contrast ratio helps tremendously in that area, my Sanyo is the same.
