With Digital cable only the premium channels are broadcasted in digital(ie HBO, SHO, MAX....). With Satalite all channels are sent via digital even your Local stations if they are offered. I use Dish with the PVR (Tivio style) reciever and have been happy. Although I have had to return my PVR twice, due to bad harddrives, but customer service was great received newer reciever very quickly. Picture quality is great, as long as you can except digital signal. Also make sure they offer loacal channels in your area.Maximus
