I am new to home theater and currently looking to upgrade from my cheesy JVC a/v receiver and RCA dvd player. I have been collecting vintage gear and have great appreciation for quality products no matter their age. Doing the vintage thing has allowed me to purchase great high end audio equipment in the secondary market at a fraction of the original cost. I understand that home theater receiver and dvd player technology is still changing quickly. But, are there some good finds in the used market of highest quality gear. if so could they be worth while or will they be made obsolete to quickly. I have been considering a YAMAHA DSP-A1 (sold new in 1998 for almost $3,000 can now be had on ebay for < $600) or a RX-V2095 would I be better off buying new in the $600-$1000 range and how would new compare to the used DSP-A1thanks,
defndum (and thrifty too!!)
