I have the TX-797B mated with Klipsch Heresy as the mains and it is a strong performer. You can probably find it used in box for a cheap price. It has a great sound and more than enough I/O to satisfy most HT owners. The Yamaha is a good product but I would go with the Onkyo.
I let a friend borrow it this weedend for the Superbowl next weekend and he could not get over how it sounded. His quote " This thing is powerful".Cheers.
