I have an Mirage Substrata 1500 subwoofer whose construction is very similar to Bob Carver's subwoofer designs (an active driver on one side and a passive radiator on the opposing side). The subwoofer just loves to dance or vibrate violently during (very) loud rumbling/explosive movie scenes though I have put some 40 pounds of diving weights on it. Will something like the Velodyne HGS-12 (II or X) do the same thing?
