If two-channel is that important to you (as it is to me), then you probably already own a good pre-amp which has its own by-pass mode. My Krell KAV-250p does and I can use my MC-1 for HT and the Krell for audio. They integrate well and I can easily switch back and forth using their remotes.In A/B tests with music sources I have had a very hard time distinguishing between the two.
