playing w/my 1st home theatre set-upsmall media room with a viewing area of 11' wide and 9' deep
couch and chairs are along 11' wall
27" jvc l'art flat screen and stand is opposite couch.
when seated on the couch there is just 6.5' to the screen.
i was going to purchase the well reviewed pioneer vsx-815k as my reviewer and use either the toshiba 3960 or panasonic s32 as the dvd player.
i am inheriting a pair of klipsch kg2.2 monitor speakers that i was going to use as rears. the related klipsch kg2.2v would be the center speaker.
my questions/issues:
if i bring in my beloved klipsch kg4s as my front speakers, do i need a subwoofer?
if i need a sub, do i go powered? how do i "match" the sub to the kg4s? what sub would work well with such a modest set-up?
if i don't use the kg4s as fronts (too big, don't sound right) perhaps i could use the kg2.2s as fronts and bring a pair of small pinnacle monitors as the rears. then again, i am faced with the issue of to sub or not and if so, which one?
do i sound confused?
i hope not.
"only" doing all of this because my friend is giving me the klipsch kg2.2 pair and the kg2.2v center. since i always liked the kg4s, i was hoping to put together a fun ht system for the kids and wife to watch some family netflix.
any and all thoughst would be appreciated
be well
rob
