Disagree: war is about "BS "new" formats or the still just fine DVD format!

Standard DVDs using 'Superbit' are actually higher definition than some of the so-called HD-DVDs.
The real war is between the companies that want to resell you everything all over again, using a format that is barely any better than the old one, (They hope the hype will sell the new format?)
I say wait five years...
That prototype 4200x2160 four times density screen will be on sale, and the next generation of format (which may actually be better!) will arrive...
And until then, my ordinary DVDs via Denon 5910 and a 42" plasma will do just fine.
Though I have the new HD-DVD and BluRay to thank for my being able to buy that Denon $3,500. DVD machine new for $1,200 from a dealer that was stuck with five of them, worried that the new formats would make the Denon DVD5910 a white elephant, selling them for peanuts and my luck to get one.
The manufacturers can take the HD-DVD and BluRay and shove them up....
And next time...
Make ONE format, that has at least five times better performance, (the same size jump as from VHS to DVD... And then get the standards set first, and the TVs out first... Then I will bite.
