Hi,
you have an odd room there. Get a seperate line installed for the HT gear. First step is to pick a TV in the 42-50 inch range. Pick what you like. 50 inch plasma would be cool, of expensiveYour room is too small for surround sound, it would suck. Go stereo, but use speakers made for HT. We have chewed up most of the budget, so go with some small Paradigm speakers. A receiver would be nice for the bass management, but an integrated would sound better. Your call...
The sub world has bass boxes, entry level boxes, competent subs and earth movers. Hsu makes a nice basic sub for around $500. If you want better the top of the line Paradigm is killer but $1700 more or less.
DVD players... Denon makes a decent one for $500, a killer for $3500.
