I held out for a long time taking a wait and see attitude then finally got a PlayStation 3 a couple months ago. I figured even if movies on Blu-Ray didn't make it, the games for PS3 would justify the hardware investment.
Like the Sony Beta tape format, Blu-Ray appeared to be the superior technology but better technology doesn't always win. The recent format war news is encouraging and I truly hope Blu-Ray takes off. It will be nice (for a change) to see the superior technology win.
And the consumer wins!
