Personally I'd be happier with a worse picture than this issue. He has HD, but a low end Sony audio system, so likely doesn't have adjustment. Doesn't bother him so much, it'd drive me nuts.
Sorry, only answering the part of "anybody else have this problem". No idea how to fix it if the replies below don't do it.
