Dish Network opinions?

I'm moving to a new house in Connecticut next week and am considering my TV choices. Basically my options are Comcast or one of the 2 satellite TV outfits. Comcast's HD selection in my new home town is wretched especially when compared to what they offer here in New Hampshire (no Turner Classic Movies HD, no Discovery HD, no Cartoon Network HD, no History Channel HD, and on and on). Dish Network has the channels I want, but I'm concerned about the little dish's susceptibility to interruptions caused by weather. Would Dish Network subscribers on AA share their experiences with the service? Thanks in advance for your help!
