As Bob stated laserdisc players don't come with
RF demodulators built-in (at least none I'm aware of), they are usually built into the receiver,processor or can be had as a stand alone unit (I have the Yamaha APD-1 unit
$99 list). Yamaha,Pioneer and a few other companies use to have reasonably priced units $99-$160 (the Yamaha is discontinued,I don't know about the others. I picked mine up at Audiogon.com back in Jan. Used is your best bet, at Audiogon.com or Audioweb, just got to keep checking everyday, they don't last long as everyone is grabbing them up. I'm not sure about the other problem, but do try another S-video cable as bad s-video cables are usually the cause of black and white pictures in my experience. hope this helps.
